Editor's Note - Unbecoming

There's a particular kind of relief that comes from finally letting go of something.

The yes you kept saying when every part of you meant no. The idea of what success was supposed to look like by now. The title you kept trying to force to be perfect at. The pressure to sound “professional”  to appease the writing experts.

That's what this issue is about.

Unbecoming the things you've been carrying as a woman in her 30s and deciding to stand ten toes down and never go back.

None of these essays are finished thoughts and I think that's more useful anyway.

Remember, your past doesn't define you and you still have time to change your future.
